Description
Students enrolling in ISA's Online Appraisal of Fine Arts course use the same text materials as the live course offerings coupled with a series of interactive learning exercises and that must be completed as the course progresses.
Each student is assigned a personal instructor who answers questions, grades assignments, and reviews the final appraisal project. Students are allowed six months to complete this course, with a maximum of two three–month extensions available at a cost of $200 each. Successful completion of all assignments and exams are required for credit in this course. Computer and email skills are required.
This course emphasizes the primary categories of fine art frequently encountered by appraisers and dealers with a focus on paintings, sculpture and works on paper. Major areas of focus: art history, looking at art works properly, identifying and researching fine art works, properly describing art works, correctly employing specific vocabulary, and art conservation.
All cancellations and transfer requests must be in writing and received two weeks (14 days) within the first date of the class. All cancellations and transfer requests are subject to a $200 fee based on course cost.
