Description
One of the twentieth century’s most innovative Native American painters, Howe committed his artistic career to the preservation, relevance, and ongoing expression of his Dakota culture, challenged the art establishment’s preconceptions and definitions of Native American painting, and created a legacy of innovation and advocacy that continues to inspire generations of Native artists.
About Lesley Lawrence, ISA AM
An ISA member since 2004, Lesley utilizes her business skills from former occupations in Information Technology, appraising for estate sale companies on behalf of “Green Book” D.C.-area clients, running my own antiques business and my love and appreciation of fine art to my appraisal company. With fine art as my specialization, I’ve had the privilege of appraising works from Durer to Warhol, for both HNWIs and collectors. With being in Reston, Virginia, I’m able to assist clients across the U.S. and most importantly, the diverse and transient population of Washington, D.C. and environs.
