EDUCATION and CONTINUING EDUCATION POLICIES

Instructors
All ISA courses must be taught by ISA CAPP members or Accredited Members with over three years at the Accredited Member level.
All ISA courses must be created or revised only by ISA CAPP Members or Accredited Members with more than three years at the Accredited Member level.
An AQB Certified Instructor must teach USPAP courses.
Cancellation Fees, Transfer Fees, and Refunds
All cancellations and transfer requests must be in writing and received two weeks (14 days) before the first date of the class. All cancellations and transfer requests submitted within the 14 day window are subject to a $100 or $200 fee based on course cost (see breakdown below).
Refunds or credits will not be given for failure to attend, whether in person or via live stream, late arrival, flight/transportation cancellations, unattended events or early departure. In the rare event of a course cancellation, ISA is not responsible for, nor will it provide, refunds for costs associated with travel, airfare, hotel, or transportation costs incurred by the registered attendee. It is always recommended that the registrant consider purchasing independent travel insurance. Refunds are not given for technology issues, regardless of which side the issue is on (ISA end vs. registrant end).
All sales of ISA publications are final. No refunds will be given.

Americans with Disabilities Act
It is essential to the ISA that your interactions with us meet your needs. If you have any accessibility requests due to a disability, please let us know in advance so we may try to accommodate you.
Photography/Taping Restriction
ISA does not allow photography or taping in any course unless the student has a registered disability requiring the use of such mechanical aids. If you have such a disability or require other special accommodations within the classroom or during testing because of a disability, please contact the ISA staff to discuss possible arrangements.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Members of all levels of membership must maintain continuing education. This includes:
- Taking a 7 HR USPAP course every two calendar years.
- The deadline will be December 31 of the applicable year.
- ISA will only teach the most recent version of a course within the applicable year(s). Please note that The Appraisal Foundation may have different current versions of the course vs. their published manual or reference guide.
- Taking the Requalification course and satisfying all requirements therein every five (5) years, initiating from when the member reached Member Level and every 5 years after that. The deadline will be December 31st of the applicable year.
- If the continuing education requirements are not met by the designated deadline, members will be demoted by one membership level.
- If more than two calendar years have passed since the last USPAP course was completed, the member must retake the current version of the 15 HR USPAP course.
- If more than two calendar years have passed since the last USPAP course was completed, the member will be demoted one membership level until the requirement is satisfied.
- If three or more calendar years have passed since the last USPAP course was completed, the member will be demoted again.
- If more than 5 years have passed since the last Requalification course was taken, the member will be demoted one membership level until the requirement is satisfied.
- If 6 or more years have passed since the last Requalification course was taken, the member will be demoted to Candidate.
- If 6 or more years have passed since the last Requalification course was taken, the member must retake the Core Course in Appraisal Studies.
- Once demoted, members are restricted to benefits for members awarded at the current membership level. See the ISA Membership Levels and Progression policy for more information about benefits.
- At the Candidate level, if continuing education requirements are still not met according to the timelines defined above, the person will be removed from the ISA membership rolls.
An AQB-qualified instructor must teach the USPAP course.
ISA reserves the right to change or enact any policy without notice. Any additions or changes to ISA policy will be effective immediately.
ISA reserves the right to make exceptions to policy on an individual basis.
