Kathryn Minard, ISA CAPP, is a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property specializing in fine art. She is a current member of the Board of Directors, former Chair of the Designation Review Committee and former Canadian instructor in Appraisal Studies with the International Society of Appraisers. A CAPP is the highest professional designation conferred by the ISA. Ms. Minard’s qualifications meet the Personal Property Appraiser Qualifications Criteria established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board of The Appraisal Foundation.

Established in 2011, Art Advisory.com is the operating name of Contemporary Fine Art Services Inc., founded in 1981 by Kathryn Minard. ArtAdvisory.com provides fine art appraisal, consulting, and collection management services. Appraisal services include reports for insurance coverage, damage and loss claims, charitable or cultural property donation, estate planning and division of assets, purchase or sales advice, determination of probate fees or capital gains tax, bankruptcy, divorce or partnership dissolution and expert witness and litigation support.

The firm advises clients on the acquisition or sale of fine art. It represents purchase and sales transactions and collection management, including inventory, cataloguing, conservation, restoration, framing, and installation.

We specialize in valuing historical and contemporary Canadian art and provide appraisals of Inuit and other First Nations art.

Clients include private and corporate collectors, financial institutions, government, public galleries and museums, registered charities and law firms.

International Society of Appraisers 

2021 – Appointed to the Board of Directors. Liaison to the Instructors and the Education, Specialty & Advanced Studies, and Designation and Review Committees.

2020 to 2021 – Served as the Chair of the Designation and Review Committee of the International Society of  Appraisers.

2010 to 2016 – Served as an instructor with the International Society of Appraisers. She taught the Core Course in Appraisal Studies, both On-Site Courses and through the Distance Education Program, and taught the Canadian Requalification Course.

From 2006 to 2011, Kathryn Minard, in partnership with Waddingtons Auctioneers & Appraisers, provided specialized services in appraisal, research and collection management through Curator Asset Management Inc.
