About
Jenning King is an independent art professional based in Taipei, Taiwan. She has experiences steeped in contemporary art since 2007 with expertise from art appraisal, curation, PR, collection to writing and Chinese-English translation.
She was a co-founder of SOYL NFT platform. Also she was formerly the senior assistant manager and art PR at Taiwan’s ESLITE GALLERY (2007-2017). She had been involved in approximately 100 exhibitions, working closely with artists including Cai Guo-Qiang, Xu Bing, Michael Lin, Liu Xiaodong, Zhan Wong, Su-mei Tse, Wong Hoy Cheong, Tong Yang-Tze. During her tenure, her application successfully entered ESLITE GALLERY into Art Basel as the first Taiwanese gallery ever to exhibit in the fair (2009). Since then, she managed the gallery’s projects in first-rate international art fairs until her departure, including Art Basel, Art Basel Hong Kong, and ARCO.
She wrote the narration in Ah Art!, a documentary about contemporary art produced by Taiwanese collector Yao Chien. Books she translated for Chinese readers include Playing to the Gallery (Grayson Perry), Creating Exhibitions (Polly McKenna-Cress, Janet Kamien), How to Write About Contemporary Art (Gilda Williams). For English readers, she translation can be found in artist catelogues and raisonnés, such as Tong Yang-Tze: Moving Ink, A One & A Two-Edward Yang Retrospective.
