About

    A nationally recognized jewelry and gemstone expert, Susan Eisen brings more than forty-two years of jewelry market experience to the valuation of important collections of jewelry and gemstones. Susan is an accredited member of ISA, a Master Gemologist Appraiser®, American Society of Appraisers, and a Certified Gemologist Appraiser of the American Gem Society. There are only 40 individuals in the United States and Canada who currently hold the accreditation of Master Gemologist Appraiser®, ASA. As the owner of a jewelry store with an art gallery inside, she also appraises contemporary American art with a specialization in Southwestern artists.

    Ms. Eisen is the author of 3 books including Crazy About Jewelry, The Expert Guide To Buying, Selling, And Caring For Your Jewelry, The Myth Of The Million Dollar Dishrag, An Effective And Powerful Plan To Avoid A Family Inheritance Battle After You Die, and Crazy About Art. Her books are meant to guide consumers in their journeys to collect and acquire jewelry, gemstones, and fine art. Ms. Eisen has published over 25 articles in national magazines, has assisted in writing courses, and has been quoted in over 200 industry articles. She is an invited guest speaker to various groups on jewelry issues, is the current president of the Texas Jewelers Association and past president of the El Paso Estate Planning Council.

    As a credentialed ISA Member, she has served on the ISA’s Membership committee and assisted in the writing of the Appraisal of Fine Art Handbook.  She has also served as a jewelry expert witness in various states in cases involving fraud, bankruptcy, divorce, negligence, and patent and trademark.

   Ms. Eisen’s appraisal reports comply with the International Society of Appraisers Appraisal Report Writing Standards and the Appraisal Foundation’s Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Ms. Eisen is also considered a “qualified appraiser” as defined by the Internal Revenue Service for federal tax function appraisals, and is experienced in appraisals for charitable gifts, estate tax, and heir distribution. She had spent most of her appraisal time over the last 42 years in the marketplace evaluating collections of jewelry, gemstones, and art.  

    Prior to obtaining ISA Certification to appraise jewelry and until today, she is also the CEO of Susan Eisen Fine Jewelry Watches Art and Appraisals. Ms. Eisen dedicates her efforts to the appraisal, and management of important collections of American jewelry and art for her clients along with acquisition, heir distribution, and valuation. Financial advisors, attorneys, prominent auction houses, retail stores, museums, government agencies and private collectors rely on her expertise as a credible, honest, and educated appraiser.
