About

Cleo Sloan has dedicated much of her life to exploring cultural institutions and organizations across the globe, primarily in Southeast Asia and Western Europe. Her passion of art history coupled with diverse experiences with business practices lead to her graduating from Oglethorpe University in 2011, as the first student in Oglethorpe’s history to graduate Magna Cum Laude with an Individually Planned Major in Art Business. While at Oglethorpe, Sloan served as the David Willis Presidential Fellow and received Oglethorpe’s coveted Art History Achievement Award for two consecutive years. Her thesis focusing on Pre-Raphaelite Studies was conducted at the University of Oxford and she has also studied abroad in Paris and Italy.

Sloan’s passion for art, knowledge of business theories and practices, as well as the structural and technical elements of the art market, served as the foundation of her art business experience as both, a contractor and consultant to museums, auction houses, and galleries across North America. Sloan earned her M.A. in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University in 2016 and later founded Sloan Fine Art Consulting.

Today, Sloan Fine Art Consulting, LLC operates as a full-service fine art consulting firm. Sloan’s firm and affiliated firms are qualified appraisers of fine art, antiquities, and decorative arts. Whether for a single work or an entire collection, Sloan provides USPAP compliant reports for a range of purposes requiring accurate and unbiased appraisals.
