About

Ronnie K. Pirovino, ISA, operates PIROVINO, professional art services, including appraisals, currently based in Colorado.

Pirovino's appraisal reports are routinely used as instruments in generating personal property policies in fine art by insurance companies, charitable donations and more. Auction houses such as Christie’s, Phillips, Heritage, Sotheby’s, Julien’s and Bonhams have consulted with Pirovino on valuation opinions. Expertise in works by KAWS, Invader, Jonas Wood, Takashi Murakami, Antony Gormley, among a great many others, including emerging artists like Robert Nava, Haroshi, Jonathan Chapline, Julie Curtiss, etc. Additionally, his expertise ventures into NFTs including CryptoPunks, Bored Apes, XCOPY, Pak, Beeple, and more.

The Pirovino personal fine art collection is internationally-renowned, established in the early 2000s. The seven-figure+ valued holding can only be described as ‘world class’. His focused expertise is in post-1990 contemporary and urban art. In 2018, Pirovino’s sale with Heritage of his KAWS toy collection broke many world records and set a new bar; the outcome was a seminal watershed event as a single-owner, single-artist auction. The catalog is highly collected due to its comprehensive approach, acting as a defacto catalog raisonne for the artist’s ‘toys’. Both the event and Pirovino were mentioned in The Wall Street Journal.

Pirovino’s experience with “art toys” is particularly unique. This newer sector in art has introduced many important sculptural works that fall outside the mainstream. Since the genre’s genesis, Pirovino has held visibility in this arena, vocal through various channels, including Instagram / @pirovino. Coverage of Pirovino’s KAWS collection has appeared in Hypebeast and HighSnobiety, among other web publications. In 2018, Intelligent Collector, published an article on Pirovino’s art collection, focusing on the Heritage Auction’s historic sale of his KAWS toy collection.

I-D, London’s premier international magazine, quoted Pirovino in a feature article, and spotlighted him with a portrait and interview profile about his lauded art collection.
