About

Kelly McKenzie is a Toronto-based art consultant, appraiser, and curator. Her consultancy and appraisal firm, McKenzie Art Projects, specializes in Canadian and American fine art such as paintings, drawings, photography, limited edition prints, sculpture, and more. Her extensive experience working in public, commercial, and cooperative galleries, as well as managing large corporate collections, offers her clients unique access to industry knowledge and resources.

McKenzie Art Projects offers a wide range of services including appraisals for the purposes of insurance claims, charitable non-cash donations, donations of certified cultural property, division of assets, and estate planning. Collection management services, including cataloguing, acquisition, and divestiture are also available. McKenzie Art Projects offers project management services for your simplest and most demanding projects. We can arrange for your collection to be professionally installed, restored, or framed at your convenience through trusted and reputable third parties in addition to providing top quality, USPAP compliant appraisal reports.

Kelly received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from OCAD University with a major in criticism and curatorial practice and a minor in English. She went on to achieve her Master of Art in art history, focusing on contemporary Canadian art, from Western University shortly thereafter. While working towards her degrees and designation with the International Society of Appraisers, Kelly had the privilege of working at Oakville Galleries in Oakville, Ontario; McIntosh Gallery in London, Ontario; DNA Artspace in London, Onatrio; and Loop Gallery, in Toronto. She now manages the corporate art collection at Manulife Financial, Canada's largest insurance company, full-time while building her business from the ground up. She also serves on the board of directors for a Toronto-based not-for-profit, Twentytwenty Arts, which focuses on producing innovative arts projects that raise awareness and funds for local charities and groups in need.
