Dr. Glenn Rand’s life has always included the pursuit of his art forms. This has been through the study, teaching, curating and collecting art. Primarily Dr. Rand specializes in photographic arts, contemporary art, and ceramics. 

His photographs are in thirty-one public museums collections in the United States, Europe and Japan and he has exhibit widely. He has also worked with several galleries, art centers and museums in curating exhibitions. This has included selecting art to be exhibited, organizing and mounting exhibitions. As a collector and donor, he has been involved with many museums both with the inclusion of his work in their permanent collections and his assistance in procuring art works for their permanent collections.

His academic training includes a Bachelor’s degree in Design from Purdue University w, a Master’s of Arts in Industrial Design, a Doctor of Education from the University of Cincinnati and post-doctoral research as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Rand has also produced, taught and written about photography, aesthetics, illustration and crafts. He has published and lectured extensively about photography and digital imaging ranging from commercial aesthetics to the technical fine points lighting. Dr. Rand has authored twelve books and contributed to various periodicals. Many of the books have been translated into Chinese, Korean, German and Italian language versions.

Dr. Rand has taught and administered in public education, community colleges and universities since 1966. In conjunction with these academic roles and consulting he has developed and reorganized several curricula for Masters of Fine Art in photography, digital imaging and allied curricula. He has taught at all levels of higher education across the curricula in fine arts.

His consultant clients have included the Eastman Kodak Company, Ford Motor Company, Photo Marketing Association International, the Ministry of Education of Finland as well as many other businesses and several colleges.
