Antiques, Furnishings + Decorative Arts Course provides information necessary to properly identify and value items within the broad category of antiques and residential contents. Focus is on skill building around analysis of construction and manufacturing; as well as identification of quality, age, and design characteristics of periods and styles. Concepts discussed in class will be reinforced with hands-on exercises. Research, identification, inspection and report writing tips for the appraiser are also discussed.

  • general household contents

The course includes an off-site field trip.

For those seeking accreditation, a post-course appraisal assignment is required, and an exam will be held on the final day. Breakfast and lunch each day is included in the course fee. 

This course is seven days, (September 25-October 1): 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; release on the last day at noon. Breakfast and lunch are included for the duration of the course with the exception of lunch on the final day. The exam will be held on the final day.

Pre-course reading and a written assignment are required for this course. 52 ISA Professional Development Credits. 

*All cancellations and transfer requests must be in writing and received two weeks (14 days) prior to the first date of the class. Refunds, minus an administrative fee of $200, will be issued on written cancellations or transfer requests received on or before September 11, 2017. Phone cancellations WILL NOT be accepted. Registrants assume full responsibility for notification to and verification of receipt by ISA.  

Refunds or credits will not be given for failure to attend, late arrival, flight/transportation cancellations, unattended events or early departure. In the rare event of a course cancellation, ISA is not responsible for nor will provide refunds for costs associated with travel, airfare, hotel or transportation costs incurred by the registered attendee. It is always recommended that the registrant considering purchasing independent travel insurance.*
