Description
The Antiques, Furnishings + Decorative Arts Course provides information necessary to properly identify and value items within the broad category of antiques and residential contents. Focus is on skill building around analysis of construction and manufacturing; as well as identification of quality, age, and design characteristics of periods and styles. Concepts discussed in class will be reinforced with hands-on exercises. Research, identification, inspection and report writing tips for the appraiser are also discussed.

ISA is now offering the Antiques, Furnishings, and Decorative Arts (AFDA) Course, Live Online. The AFDA Course is 6 days (July 24-29, 2023), from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m CST, Monday-Friday, with the exam given on Saturday. Students need to be present online throughout the entire course in order to receive credit. The exam will be given remotely on the final day of the course, administered through ProctorU.
