If you are ready to share your expertise and help shape the future of ISA education, we invite you to apply for the paid AF&DA Instructor Internship—a first step toward joining ISA’s instructional team.

About the Internship
- Dates: September 15–19, 2025 from 9am-6pm CT
- Attendance: Minimum 30 hours (first day is mandatory; remaining hours to be mutually agreed upon with other instructors)
- Format: Live Online (via Zoom)
- Stipend: $1,300
- Location: Remote participation required
This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of ISA’s Live Online AF&DA Course alongside experienced instructors.

Intern Responsibilities
The intern will actively participate throughout the course week and demonstrate readiness for potential future instructional roles. Responsibilities include:
- Attend at least one (1) 1-hour virtual pre-course planning session.
- Support instructor communication and logistics prior to and during the course, including responding to instructor emails.
- Present three (3) assigned lessons to demonstrate instructional ability and subject matter expertise. Lessons will be assigned in collaboration with the other instructors.
- Collaborate with instructors to review and refine PowerPoint presentations, teaching scripts, and exam content for assigned lessons.
- Grade at least one (1) student exam and one (1) student appraisal report to submit to Director of Education or assigned supervisor.
- Receive feedback from current instructors throughout the process.
- Provide a one (1) page post-course review to aid in refining the course.
- Participate in one (1) post-course 1-hour evaluation with the Director of Education.
Successful completion of the internship and a positive evaluation may lead to teaching opportunities within ISA’s AF&DA curriculum, including both live online and distance education formats.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Current ISA CAPP designation with accredited specialty in AF&DA pathway (dual accreditations in both Fine Art and AF&DA also meets this requirement).
- Demonstrated expertise and competency in preparing USPAP-compliant appraisals for a wide variety of AF&DA.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Professionalism and a willingness to mentor and support learners.
- Commitment to contributing to ISA’s educational mission.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with other instructors.
- Ability to refine existing curriculum by updating existing materials (including, but not limited to: manuals, assignments, exams, PowerPoints, etc.).
Preferred criteria:
- Specific experience and expertise in a specialty area withing AF&DA
- Previous teaching experience within and/or outside of ISA (courses, webinars, KSPs, higher learning, public presentations, etc.).
- Familiarity with using Zoom (sharing screen, utilizing breakout rooms, chats, polls, etc.).
