Statement Regarding Assets Cancellation
Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in News
Dear ISA members and Assets attendees,
After spending the past few weeks monitoring the situation with COVID-19, the ISA board, Conference Committee, and I have made the difficult decision to cancel Assets 2020, which was scheduled to take place next month in Denver, Colorado. I appreciate your patience as we take the necessary steps as an organization to work through this cancellation. There is no action you need to take right now.
I am sure you have questions regarding this cancellation, some of which I will answer below.
Is the Conference Committee exploring other options for Assets 2020?
Yes, they are exploring some possibilities and will announce their plans next week.
Do I need to cancel my hotel reservation?
No, there is no need to contact the hotel to cancel your reservation at this time. We are working with the hotel directly and will follow up with cancellation information.
Will I be able to receive a refund for Assets 2020?
Yes, refund requests will be handled next week. Anyone who wants a refund will receive one in full. Refund requests must be received in writing or via email. More details will be provided soon.
Will the in-person courses scheduled before and after Assets still take place?
Yes, the Print Identification Course, 7 Hour USPAP, and Requalification Course originally scheduled to be held on-site in Denver will be converted to online courses. We will be in touch with course registrants with more details in the coming week.
How will ISA's other course offerings and day-to-day activities be impacted by COVID-19?
ISA's staff have closed their physical offices but are fully equipped to work remotely. We will be evaluating other in-person ISA events and issuing updates as necessary.
I extend my deepest gratitude to our volunteers, especially the 2020 conference committee, Lisa Duke, ISA CAPP, Larissa Wild, ISA AM, Bruce Treadway, ISA CAPP, Ross Bradley, ISA AM, Cathy Wright, ISA, Wendy Gerdau, ISA CAPP, Fred Winer, ISA CAPP, Meredith Meuwly, ISA CAPP, and Irene Szylinger, ISA CAPP, for all their efforts to make this a wonderful conference. Please keep an eye on your inbox and on the ISA website for further updates.
Wishing you health and safety,
