About

I am the co-owner of Seaside Art Gallery, Nags Head, NC which specializes in original fine art and animation art.

Seaside Art Gallery was founded in 1961 by Chester & Barbara Smith, my parents. I have been attending art auctions, such as Parke Bernet (Sotheby’s) and Phillips in New York since I was 10 years old.  I constantly study and research the art market and am up to date with the changes, whether it is national or international.

I am very active in the art world and have organized and hosted numerous art shows and have been a judge for art shows in eastern North Carolina

Animation Art is a specialty and I wrote and taught the section for animation art for the International Society of Appraisers, Fine Arts Specialty course 204.  I have dealt with animation art for over 30 years and have worked directly with Disney Studios, Linda Jones Ent (Warner Bros), United Feature and many others.

I also developed and presented the webinar, “Prints, Original, Fakes or Reproductions” for the International Society of Appraisers, July 2010. 

The national magazine, Art Business News interviewed me for three different articles and I have been a guest on the radio show, Value This.
