About

Harrison Appraisals, L.L.C. is a Maryland based personal property appraisal firm that offers qualified appraisals of antiques, fine art and decorative objects from the 17th century to present.  The firm offers appraisals in many areas including insurance, estate planning and trust matters, probate, charitable donations, equitable distribution, determination of federal estate and gift tax liability and liquidation.  The firm also provides expert witness testimony and litigation support.

Established in 1992, Harrison Appraisals serves a select clientele of private collectors, law firms, insurers, financial institutions and museums in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan area.  Our principal, C. Robert Harrison, is a USPAP compliant, IRS qualified appraiser and accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers with 31 years of experience appraising antiques, fine art and decorative arts.  Mr. Harrison holds a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in American history from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.  He studied American decorative arts at the Museum for Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and at Winterthur in Wilmington, Delaware.

Mr. Harrison can be seen on the popular Maryland Public Television series, Chesapeake Collectibles, where he appears as a guest appraiser of furniture, folk art and objets d'art.  He has provided technical assistance for the television series Abandoned, which appeared on the National Geographic Channel in 2011, and has been recognized as "One of Baltimore's Best Art Appraisers" by CBS Baltimore.

Harrison Appraisals is an ardent supporter of the local arts and preservation community and participates in several annual charitable events, including the Woodsboro Appraisal Day in Frederick County, Maryland.  We are also proud members of the International Society of Appraisers and the Foundation for Appraisal Education.
