ISA Credentials
ISA Credentials and Membership Levels
ISA members are the recognized authorities on professional personal property appraising and are distinguished for their professionalism, knowledge, and expertise. They include many of the country’s most respected independent appraisers, consultants, estate liquidators, auctioneers, gallery owners, and dealers. Membership is held by individuals only—business entities or organizations may not hold membership or advertise as members. Members, Accredited Members, and Certified Members must requalify every five years.
ISA CAPP — Certified Member
Highest level of education in ISA and the appraisal industry. Meets Accredited Member standards, has completed 500 documented hours of appraisal reporting within five years and has completed the Certified Appraisal of Personal Property examination.
ISA AM — Accredited Member
Satisfies Member level requirements and demonstrates knowledge in their field through education or specialty expert work in that field.
ISA — Member
Completed the ISA Core Course in Appraisal Studies, documented three or more years satisfactory market-related experience in their field and has completed and passed the exam for the 15-hour Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) course.
ISA Life Member
An honorary designation for Accredited or Certified Members in good standing. Life Members have maintained accreditation and/or certification and served ISA and the profession of personal property appraisers for at least 20 years.
Candidate
Non-credentialed, dues paying member of ISA. Cannot advertise connection with ISA in any way.
