Foundation for Appraisal EducationThe Foundation for Appraisal Education is a not-for-profit corporation formed to promote the advancement of education related to personal property appraising, to provide instruction and training of individuals for improving their appraisal skills, and to provide instruction to the public on personal property appraising and related subjects. Governed by a six-member board of directors, the Foundation is a separate corporate entity from its parent organization, the International Society of Appraisers. The Foundation was established in 2002. Currently the Foundation for Appraisal Education has two primary annual activities; the issuance of scholarships for individuals interested in personal property appraising and the staging of the Annual Fun’d Auction as a funding source for the awarded scholarships. This year’s scholarships contain four awards of $1000 each, two in each category (2 for experienced appraisers and 2 for student or new appraisers). You can find all this on the SCHOLARSHIP page. Monies can be applied to educational courses related to personal property appraising. To be eligible one must demonstrate financial need and fill out an application form. One need not be a member of a professional appraisal organization.
